Overview

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that uses hypnosis, a natural, focused and deeply relaxed state, to work with the subconscious mind. In this state you stay aware and in control, but the mind becomes more receptive to new perspectives, helpful suggestions and emotional healing.

At The Mind Mentor, hypnotherapy is always combined with psychotherapy. We first understand what is going on and what you want to change, then use hypnosis to reinforce new ways of thinking, feeling and responding.

Goa has a special place in the history of hypnosis: the Goan-born Abbé Faria was one of the first to show that hypnosis comes from the power of the subject’s own mind, not from the hypnotist.

What a hypnotherapy session feels like

Most people describe hypnosis as a deeply calm, pleasant state, like the moment just before falling asleep, while still being aware of everything around them. Latika guides you gently with her voice, and you can speak, move or open your eyes at any time.
